1. Puttu- kadala curry

             
     Puttu is a popular breakfast dish in all parts of Kerala. It is eaten along with kadala curry or banana and grated coconut. Kadala curry is a spicy coconut gravy, and boiled chikpeas are its ingredients. It has high protein content. 

2. Appam- stew

             
         Appam is like a pancake made with rice batter which is made in appachatty, a round shallow dish, which is used to make hot round appams. The middle portion is soft and spongy, while the sides will be crispy. Appam can be eaten with any curries. 

3. Idiyappam- egg curry

               
       Idiyappam or noolappam is a famous dish made from rice dough. Thin strands of rice dough will be made from seva and then cooked in steam to get idiyappam. Soft idiyappam with hot egg curry is a great way to start a day in Kerala. Idiyappams are so light and fluffy. Most of the peoples in Kerala like idiyappam.

4. Kerala beef fry- Malabar parotta 

               
       Kerala beef fry is a spicy delicacy made by beef stir fried with pepper, onions, ginger-garlic and garam masala in coconut oil. The beef fry goes well with Malabar parotta. This combination make people to eat more.

5. Payasam

               
          Payasam is the ultimate dessert of kerala. Three different types of payasams are  usually served after the end of sadhya. Paal payasam, ada payasam, and kadala payasam. The payasams are very sweet and milky in texture. Cardamom is the only spice added in payasams along with ghee, raisins and cashews.
