TAMIL CULTURE

Tamil culture is the culture of the Tamil people. Tamil's have strong attachment to the Tamil Language, which is often venerated in literature as "TAMILANNAI ",The Tamil mother. Tamil literature is of considerable antiquity, and is recognized as a classical language by the government of India.
Tamil people with a population of approximately 76 million, predominantly in India, living around the world are one of the largest and the oldest of the existing ethnolinguistic cultural groups of people in modern world.
From the 3rd century BCE onwards urbanization and mercantile activity along the western and eastern coasts of what is today Kerala and Tamilnadu led to the development of four large Tamil political states, Chera dynasty, Chola dynasty, Pandya dynasty and Pallava dynasty and a number of smaller states warning amongst themselves or dominance.

CUISINE: The food of Kerala consist of a wide variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian food. The food consist of fish ,meat, poultry and rice preparations. Kerala food is loaded with many spices. Coconut is grown abundant in kerala.  Hence they use coconut oil and milk in thickening flavours. Kerala food consist of many rice preparations like idly , dosa etc..Chillies ,curry leaves,mustard seeds,turmeric powder are frequently used. CLOTHING: Women  of kerala wear saree and blouse. During festivals  they wear set sarees called KASAVU.  Men wear MUNDU, which is a long piece of garment wrapped  around their waist  .
