           Brihadhishvara Temple,also called Rajarajesvaram or peruvudaiyar koyil,is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord shiva located in tanjavur,Tamil nadu,India. It is one of the largest Temple in South india. It has the largest nandhi compared to all other temples.

Every year, MAHA SHIVARATHIRI is celebrated as their major function. The kumbam is made with a single stone of 81 tonnes. 1,30,000 tonnes of granite was used to construct the temple. It gives more pride to this temple. We can't see the shadow of the kumbam. It is one of the oldest temple built by Raja Raja cholan. 

Temples depict the rich cultural heritage of South India.
